"The soul is the same in all living creatures, although the body of each is different."
- Hippocrates
We all live in a world of energy, but animals are far more in tune with, and aware of, this fact than people seem to be. Reiki is a subtle healing energy that animals know and use, and they are generally very open and welcoming of reiki. As such, they tend to respond very positively to a reiki session.

Reiki is gentle and painless and can never cause harm. It is important to note that I will never perform reiki on an animal who does not wish to receive it. I typically use a combination of hands on and hands off work during a session, depending on what the animal is comfortable with and what is needed at that time.

As a Certified Animal Reiki practitioner, I am trained to work with the special needs of the animal kingdom, including using reiki energy that is slightly different than the energy frequency used with humans. Just like with people, an animal will take what it needs from the reiki energy in order to best promote homeostasis in body and mind.

Animal reiki is a complementary therapy and is never a substitute for veterinary, behavioral, or body work specialists. Reiki therapists work hand-in-hand with other practitioners for the highest good of the client. A reiki practitioner will never diagnose medical or behavioral conditions or prescribe medications.
